— Reagen Sinclair to Engen. |
The Elders (엘더) are a group comprised of nine of the most powerful Gift Users in the world. They are recognized across the world for their power, worshipped for it, admired, and feared.
Each member wields a great amount of influence amongst multiple Districts and are said to be so powerful that they are not bound by the ordinary rules and restrictions of the Hero Clan.[1]
Artifacts[]

The symbols of proof of being an Elder.
Each member of the Elders possesses an asymmetrical nine-pointed star symbol, which they wear or carry on their person. Yushin said that the artifacts harness no special powers and seem to be nothing more than just pieces of jewelry and decorated items.
Hero Killer concluded that the Elders still use them because even they are personally attached to items like other human beings[2].
The former Elder Yushin had his artifact destroyed after his duel with the Skysword[3]. However, the Master of the Clan would restore the artifact and wield it for himself.
History[]
The Rising of Stars[]
Throughout the world, extraordinary individuals were born and would one day rise to become "Stars".
Era of the Lords[]

The Respective banners of the Elders.
After the Chaotic Era ended over a millennium ago, people began worshipping these nine powerful individuals.[4] The nine became known as the Elders and were revered as demigods. They were described as the brightest shining stars in a galaxy of chaotic anarchy.[5] These nine Elders created a new order in the world and would build the first nine districts from the ruins of the previous era and rule over their respective territories.[4]
Era of Nera[]
After the destruction of Nera at the hands of The Steel Witch, a swordsman known as the Skysword started gaining attention after continuously defeating more and more district lords in what would be called the Crown Hunt. The Skysword would challenge one of the Elders, Yushin who was the ruler of Yerim to a duel.
After a fierce battle that lasted for more than a week, the Skysword defeated Yushin[4] who became crippled from the fight and lost his Elder symbol[3]. For the first time since their creation many centuries ago, the membership of the Elders changed, with the Skysword replacing Yushin.[6]
Great War[]
When the new Elder created the Hero Clan, two other Elders, Bishop and Victoria, decided to join it, becoming two of the strongest heroes. Since then, the Skysword become the master of the Clan.
