Jintae Yang (양진태) was a prominent Villain and the leader of a fiercely powerful gang of villains. He was the former wielder of the One Hundred-Sided Blade which he took from The Master of the Glassblade, his former mentor, after killing him and the master of the Ancient Sword Technique of the Flowing Blade fighting style.

He was infamous for his bloodthirsty love of mass murder and incredible swordsmanship that earned him a reputation in being one of the most dangerous villains of the generation born after the Great War.

Wanting even more power for himself, Jintae and his gang tracked down The Torch, an ancient shard of great power. To meet his ends, he and his gang received backing from Castle Gray who supported their endeavors against the Hero Clan.

He would become the hated archnemesis/rival of Hero Killer and an enemy to the Nameless as he and his gang clashed with them multiple times during the Hero Trials and the hunt for the Torch. This came to a head after he killed Nenya, the adoptive younger sister of Hero Killer and became a vessel for fragment of The Torch in Nostra.

He and his gang clashed against their rivals for one last during the Smiling Man's Invasion of Castle Gray. However, the remaining members of his gang were killed, and he was finally defeated in a one-on-one duel with Hero Killer.

Appearance[]

Jintae was a good-looking young man, retaining a sharp jawline and nose with messy, unkempt mud-brown hair and bright orange eyes with red iris. He had a muscled physique honed from years of training. For clothing, he wore traditional clothing that appeared to be hanboks and taesahye looking shoes that mimic real-world Korea from antiquity in a stylized design as his casual wear.

He once had a brown colored one with an opened shirt line that he wore during his confrontation against his master and when he met Sapphire in his early days as a Villain. He would start to wear a blue and black one with the blue lining decorated with patterns of clouds and flowers and black with white lines taesahye shoes which he would wear up till he was forced to blind himself and the Nostra City Arc.

After his blinding, he started to wear a brown hooded cloak with the same-colored shirt and pants with white colored bandages wrapped around his arms and pants' legs. He also wore a blindfold to hide his blindness. He retained this outfit up till after his clash with the Nameless and Sapphire and Daemon's deaths, having gone back to wearing his traditional clothing with a cape.

He also once wore a stolen raincoat that belonged to the Hero Exam Proctors with its grayish blue, similar to color of jeans, and their black and grey logo on the back that resembles a gladiator or a spartan. He also wears matching leather pants along with black rain boots.

Personality[]

Your bloodlust knows no bounds.

The Master of the Glassblade

Jintae was a man of questionable character with arrogance matching his ideals, initially he come off as a quiet and old-fashioned young man with a sharp and quick mind as he immediately realized that the Smiling Man was protecting Hero Killer and stated that Engen had planted a "wolf" amongst the Hero Clan's ranks.

Jintae's Love for Killing

Jintae expressing his love in killing people.

However, Jintae's true colors showed that he greatly enjoyed killing others while wearing a disgusting gleeful smile on his face and was revealed to have been the one to teach Sapphire how to kill after massacring her entire tribe. This showed a clear sign of depravity as a Villain, but as a warrior he prided himself on his techniques, which was ironic considering his hypocrisy.

He was quick to make commands but always second guesses things and usually never follows commands on the first attempt. After his fight With Engen, his pride in his abilities was crushed, allowing for the seeds of inferiority to plant in him. This has caused him to go for complete domination against his opponents and become hungry in attaining power.

Surprisingly, Jintae did have a soft side to his bloodthirsty villainous personality. He cared about the members of his gang as he was obsessed with avenging the deaths of Condor, Sapphire, and Daemon.

History[]

Jintae's Question to his Master

Jintae and his Master.

Jintae’s early life wasn’t fully explored in any detail, but he was a disciple of The Master of the Glassblade, the master of the One Hundred-Sided Blade presumably since his youth. As a young man, Jintae once asked his master on what the point of learning was how to sheathe one’s during combat and the old man explains the nature of the One Hundred-Sided Blade’s abilities.

He elaborates that the sword’s potential isn’t that it’s translucent but that it forms a shape according to the wielder’s desires. And to manifest that it needs to be pulled from its sheath thus the Ancient Sword Technique of the Flowing Blade swordsmanship was created for the purpose of wielding the shard.

A decade later, Jintae started desiring the master’s One Hundred-Sided Blade as he wanted it for himself. He convinced the other disciples to start a rebellion against their master. On the night of a bright full moon, they killed all those who opposed them and confronted the master.

The master asked Jintae if he decided to abandon of his morals just to attain the sword that badly, but Jintae refutes the old man saying that isn’t the fact that he can’t part ways with it, a sign of his own greed. Jintae then tells his master that he and his conspirators have decided to determine who shall own the blade once they take the blade from him by force. Tonight, the lone survivor shall become the owner of the sword.

The master, accepting the situation, tells Jintae that they should go outside if he is to die, he wishes to die under the moonlight. Jintae accepts while turning his back, but the master then unsheathes the One Hundred-Sided Blade that unleashes a widespread giant slash that destroys the nearby buildings of the dojo while also killing the other disciples. The master, finishing off one last disciple, asks why Jintae couldn’t wait at least ten more years before his death as they exchange strikes. The master then lectures Jintae to remind him that his pride will bring misfortune and asks if he truly thinks that he deserves to become the wielder of One Hundred-Sided Blade.

The master questions Jintae’s claim that only the owner of the blade will descend the mountain and proclaims that the blade is his as he smiles. He then prepares to give Jintae one final lesson on his way to the underworld.

The details of Jintae’s final fight with his master isn’t fully but Jintae realized that his skills and ability didn’t stand a chance against him as the old man intentionally let himself be killed. Asking the master why he died for him, the master states that it was only a matter of time before Jintae would’ve surpassed him. And that Jintae will show the world the might of their swordsmanship whether he wished to or not. The Master laughs manically as he dies with blade and sheath in his hands in a pool of blood.

Jintae, with the One Hundred-Sided Blade in his hands, descended from the mountains. The full extent of his activities afterwards is unknown, but he met and befriended Condor, a warrior and former royalty from the lawless land of Grodnensa, at some point during this period. During their travels, Jintae and Condor came across a primitive settlement of humans that were in the middle of executing a young woman after discovering that she was a Gift user as they believed that her abilities was witchcraft.

The two villains then meet a young woman's sister whom Condor sees that she herself is a Gift user. Jintae praises her ability on keeping that fact hidden for so long, unlike her sister, and asked her if she was interested in learning how to kill people. After slaughtering the entire settlement, Jintae asks the young woman what her name is, and she tells him that it’s Sapphire.

The three united into a group of Villains and built an impressive reputation for themselves as they started clashing with the Hero Clan.
