The Nameless are a gathering of villains led by Engen, the Smiling Man. They are made up of survivors from the War of the Reeds and the generation of villains born after the war.
History[]
End of Old Nera[]
Having lost two major battles, Engen and the forces of Nera were defeated by the Hero Clan in the War of the Reeds. The word of "Nera" ceased to exist with the clan banning its name after their victory. Engen and the survivors scattered as his former comrades went into hiding as in the case of Chain or abandoned him in his desire to continue fighting against the clan.
Engen's activities in the decades following his loss aren't fully known as he disappeared from the public eye with many assuming he had died in the war. Other survivors like Nugal settled down in a slum as he eventually started a family while others like Abyss Dancer left but continued her villainous life.
Gathering of the Nameless[]
Engen and Rachel.
Over a century later into the Age of Heroes and Villains, Engen traveled to Castle Gray, the snow-covered wasteland. He met Rachel Sinclair and saved the young girl's life from her torturers after killing them. The girl had wondered what he was doing in the snow-covered wasteland, and Engen answered that he was preparing for his third attempt against the Hero Clan.
Engen seeing Rachel's potential decided to take her under his wing and raise her, promising to help her achieve revenge against her biological father Reagan Sinclair, the Mad Elder.[1]
In the following years to come, Engen started recruiting survivors, outcasts, or those with grudges against the Hero Clan amongst the Villains. During this period, he met Vector, a former scientist of the clan, who had offered his services in exchange for witnessing and playing a role in his plans, his partner John Nash, and Baek-Ji, a young Gift user with a grudge against the Hero Clan's leader.
This gathering of individuals started to be referred to as the "Nameless", survivors of the war amongst a new generation of villains. The group of villains settled down in Dust City.
Story[]
District 17 Assault Arc[]
The Nameless watch Hero Killer's fight with Chaos and Viper[2]. Rachel wonders if saving her is worth catching the attention of the Hero Clan but Engen answers that there's strength in numbers and that Hero Killer is quite an asset. As Hero Killer is on the brink of defeat and being killed by Viper, John Nash appears before the hero.
As the hero asks who he is, John kills him in an instant while Rachel cheerfully answers his posthumous question that they're the villain of course. Chaos, seeing this, retreats.

Goals[]
The Nameless' main goals include:
- Destroy the Hero Clan (Ongoing).
- Bulid a bigger reputation amongst the villains (Succeeded).
- Kill Paladin (Failed).
- Bulid a base of power and take advantage of the Hero Clan's civil war (Ongoing).
- Conquer Castle Gray (Succeeded).
- Kill Reagan Sinclair (Succeeded).
Despite these being the group's overall goals there are members who have their own personal motives as to why they joined Engen.

- Engen, Vector, and John are the oldest of the group.
- Baek-Ji, Bagna, Ihwa, Rachel, and Nenya are the youngest of the group.
