WARNING! |
Nera was a nation founded and ruled by a mysterious man that came to be known as The King of Nera. The nation was founded at the end of Era of the Lords
General Information[]
A century ago, the world had adapted well to the new Era of the Lords after the Chaotic Eraand formation of the Elders, or so it seemed.
A man whose life was filled with tragedy and despair would have his entire life change dramatically. The man would explore a forgotten ruin and to find a mysterious shard.
He used its powers to lay waste to the lands and founded a dominion that he named Nera, which meant Torch in the Unknown Language. He then started a campaign of conquest against the nearby districts as the new nation's king. The district lords tried to stop the king's campaign, but they were too late as he had grown too powerful by the time that the lords felt threatened by him. Only the Elders could stop him at that point, but they ignored the man and his ambitions.

History[]
The War of Inheritance[]
The king's body could no longer endure the capabilities of The Torch and was showing signs of breaking down from within. The king, seeing that his life would end, summoned talented followers that he either abducted or led astray when they were still children and those that showed immense talent who had proven themselves as capable warriors. Amongst these followers were Engen and Chain, two young boys who were promising Gift users, Islotta Rainfall, a master swordswoman and many others.
The king then made a proposition to his subjects - Whoever that conquers the greatest number of districts until I stop breathing...Shall inherit my throne and all I have. And the War of Inheritance had begun.[1] The war would be a series of campaigns against the numerous districts and their lords.
Towards the end of the war amongst the hundreds of his would-be successors, there was one that stood out as the best. The powerful master swordswoman Islotta Rainfall had conquered the largest number of districts but there was a quality that separated her from the rest of heirs to the inheritance as she showed mercy towards her opponents and was kind enough to accept those who had surrendered or lost to her.
The king, having seen her popularity, despised Islotta immensely for it. Overrun with envy and desiring to burn down the entire world with flames, he sent his armies to hunt down Islotta on a night of a full moon. But she would die by her husband Chain's hands in an act of mercy.[2] The king lived on for quite some time before his body eventually give in to the side effects of The Torch and passed away. However, the king's legacy lived on through his successor, Engen who had won the war.
The Steel Witch's Attack[]
Engen, having won the war, was crowned the second king of Nera. In the following three days after he assumed the throne and was ready to inherit the The Torch, a mysterious woman appeared who called herself The Steel Witch. She would kill everyone in the area in a mere second and destroy the Torch.
Engen clashed against this powerful woman but was overwhelmingly defeated. The Witch, in a mocking tone, asked why he had such a gloomy expression on his face and decided to put a "smile" on it, giving him an incurable iconic scar on his face. She then disappeared. [3]
Engen, defeated and humiliated by the Witch, wouldn't give up. Nera, while no longer at its peak, was still strong enough to fight for a place of dominance in the world. [4]
The War of the Reeds[]
After the time in which the Witch defeated Engen, certain rumors started to spread around the same time. A man known as the Skysword had gained the attention of the world after he killed numerous district lords and defeated one of the Elders, Yushin in a duel. The Skysword had gained enough power to establish an organization called the Hero Clan based around his fame. It was only a matter of time until the clan, having operated underneath the banner of justice, clashed with Engen and the remaining remnants of Nera.
Thousands of battles took place in numerous areas and districts with fierce fighting from both the villains and heroes but eventually Engen and his forces were defeated once again after losing two major battles.
The word of "Nera" ceased to exist with the clan banning its name after their victory. Engen's activities in the decades following his loss and the coming Age of Heroes and Villains aren't fully known as he disappeared from the public eye with many assuming he had died in the war.
