— Rachel answering Viper's question to his corpse.
Rachel Sinclair (레이첼 싱클레어) is a Villain and a member of New Nera as one of the youngest. She is an illegitimate daughter of the late Mad Elder, Reagan Sinclair as one of the numerous ones aside from her older half siblings Raxfer Sinclair, Razenia Sinclair, and many others.
Born in Castle Gray, the snow-covered wasteland ruled by her biological father, Rachel was raised by Heverna, her mother and maternal uncle for most of her childhood but her life changed dramatically after her Gift abilities awakened. Desperate to keep her safe from her father, her family attempted to leave Castle Gray, but her mother was captured by the Royal Guard who had brutally murdered her uncle.
Sentenced to die for "crimes" against the lord, Rachel was rescued by the infamous villain Engen, the Smiling Man, as he was traveling through the snowy lands. Rachel, who had just lost everything dear to her, was inspired by Engen's determination and dream of crushing the Hero Clan despite previous failures. She then vowed to avenge her family and herself by killing her tyrannical father by mounting his head on his castle tower.[1]
After leaving her homeland, Rachel was fostered by Engen as they traveled together to recruit others to the Nameless. Under his care she was trained on how to use her Gift and molded her into a deadly villain. She was introduced in the District 17 Assault Arc, where she and the Nameless helped saved Hero Killer after she was nearly killed by the heroes and announced their returned to the public by attacking the Hero Clan.
Appearance[]
Rachel is a short and fair looking young girl with long blonde hair styled in a ponytails with hairbands in same color as her skirt with bright eyelashes and amber yellow eyes. She has a perpetual blush, having had it since her birth and typically wears a smile on her face. She wore a white long sleeve shirt and later a short sleeve version with frailties with a blue skirt and has a blue band tied under her collar with heels but switched to a casual black shirt with blue jean overalls and sneakers.

— Rachel's Conviction.
Rachel's thought process.
Rachel is a young woman with an easygoing, almost carefree nature. She always seems happy or relaxed, even in the most stressful or dangerous situations. Unlike Engen, John, or Ihwa, Rachel isn't the stoic type; she's talkative and outwardly friendly, with a warm demeanor that makes her approachable. However, beneath her cheerful exterior, Rachel can be quirky and mischievous, often teasing her friends, especially Vector, with pranks or playful remarks.
Rachel has a playful side that often comes through in her interactions. For instance, she once took advantage of Bagna’s naivety about love, convincing him that he was in love with Ihwa and Engen just to mess with him. Despite her lighthearted antics, Rachel deeply cares for her comrades, enjoying the time spent with them despite their varying personalities and often cold natures.
Her care for her friends is evident in how she interacts with them. She approaches Engen’s aloofness with a smile, forgives Ihwa after being beaten up during the Nameless’ test for the Hero Killer, hugs John when he’s in his small form, and is always there to protect Vector during dangerous situations.
While she may come off as less intense compared to her fellow Nameless members, Rachel harbored a deep-seated hatred for her biological father, Reagan Sinclair, due to the traumatic experiences she endured in her childhood and the cruel life he imposed upon her in Castle Gray. These painful memories, combined with feelings of powerlessness, transformed into a potent mixture of sadness, guilt, rage, and fear, fueling her strength and determination. However, after finally achieving her revenge against the Mad Elder Rachel has a new sense of relief from her trauma.
As a villain, Rachel is not needlessly cruel like her late father, nor does she share Engen's cold, vicious mindset. Much like Vector and Ihwa, she avoids involving innocent bystanders in her schemes. However, when it comes to fighting or facing her enemies, Rachel shows no hesitation in using lethal force. She has trapped many of her worst enemies in her Garden of Solitude, forcing them to suffer in her twisted domain.
Beneath her cheerful façade, Rachel is also incredibly cunning and aware of her surroundings. This was evident during the Nameless' attack on the Dust City Hero Clan HQ, where she quickly assessed Sharpshooter's fighting style and switched opponents when she recognized her own disadvantages in the battle.
History[]
Rachel as a baby.
Rachel was born in Castle Gray, a desolate snow-covered land where orphans were everywhere, poverty was the norm, and never-ending civil war and fighting were frequent in the Age of Heroes and Villains. She was raised by her mother Heverna, a gardener and material uncle, who worked for the local castle lord as they lived together in a small cottage near the edge of the district. [2]

While poor, the family lived in relative peace and Rachel was raised in a stable home life despite the harshness of Castle Gray. One day while eating dinner with her mother and uncle Rachel wanted to know the name of a flower she had accidentally cut earlier after cleaning their garden.
Trying to remember Rachel suddenly creates the flower in her hand's palm which shocks her family. Later that night, her mother and uncle argue about what to do. Her uncle believes they should take Rachel to meet her father, but her mother rejects the idea of it fearing that her daughter could get killed. Her uncle warns Heverna that it is only a matter of time before the nobles and the lord of the castle find out about Rachel's new status as a Gift user and her abilities. Seeing the tense argument, Rachel asked that they stop fighting.
Heverna, wanting to protect her daughter from harm, starts packing and prepares to leave with Rachel. Rachel's uncle tells her not to be foolish reminding her that it's taboo to leave the lands, but Heverna stands resolved and tells him to get lost if he isn't going to help them. Seeing his niece's fear, Rachel's uncle gathers his resolve and agrees to help. Heverna tells him to meet them at the outskirts of the town in three hours while Rachel smiles at the sight of them making up.
That night, Rachel and Heverna hurry to the meeting point but instead of seeing her uncle, they find his dead body. Suddenly, a man carrying a scythe appears behind them.[3] The man is revealed to be Highwind and royal guards from the main castle immediately arrest them. In an attempt to save Rachel, Heverna tells the guards the identity of Rachel's father is Reagan Sinclair, the lord of Castle Gray. But Highwind shrugs off the revelation explaining that his lord has many, many illegitimate children in the hundreds and that Heverna has no clear proof of her claim while telling her that his lord holds "justice and fairness" above everyone else even his daughter. Highwind then takes Heverna away to be executed and sends Rachel to be dragged across the lands as punishment for trying to break the backward laws of Castle Gray.
Rachel could do nothing but laugh at her fate, not because she was happy but because that was all she could do as the life that she knew was destroyed in an instant. She wonders what happened to her mother and who was this man that they call her father, later thinking that she was fated to die in the snow while leaving nothing behind. Then a man dressed in the castle guards' uniform appears.
The man saves Rachel from her torturers as he brutally kills them, he didn't ask any questions like why she tried to leave the snow-covered wasteland or why Rachel looked like she wanted to die. After making a grave for her mother and uncle, Rachel wondered what the man was doing in Castle Gray, and the Smiling Man answered that he had attempted to reach a clan twice before but failed both times. And that was why he was preparing for his third attempt against them while smiling with an eerie smirk.
Seeing how happy he looked made Rachel jealous as she thought that having such strong hopes and aspirations were nice. She then saw the castle where the man who took everything from her was living.
Rachel awakening her Gift.
At that moment, Rachel realized that she had given up on life because she had already given up on getting revenge before even trying, and through a whirlwind of emotions, she awakens her Gift as they would become the source of her Gift. As she prepared to leave her former home, Rachel swears that she will return someday to kill the Elder that they call her father. And mount his head at the top of the castle tower.[4]
Rachel and Engen crossing the Forest together.
Rachel and Engen would then cross the Forest of Immortals, a large dark forest that surrounds the entire district. Thanks to Engen, they were able to go through the haunted forest safely while avoiding the monsters that dwelt there. [5]
While leaving Castle Gray, Engen and Rachel meet Vector, a scientist of the Hero Clan, after he fled from Project Newborn along with John Nash, a victim and test subject of the horrific program. Engen recruits them as he saw how useful the doctor's Gift was and Vector offered his services in exchange for witnessing and playing a role in Engen's future endeavors against the clan.[6]
In the coming years, Rachel began a new life with her villainous comrades as Engen started recruiting survivors, outcasts, or those with grudges against the Hero Clan amongst the Villains. During this period, Rachel adopted the name "Sinclair" to let those from House Sinclair know that she was alive and well, even though she hated it [7] and it's assumed that she learned how to use her Gift as well as how to fight from Engen.
The rest of her childhood isn't fully known but Rachel grew close with Vector and John, especially with Vector as he decided to help her succeed with her revenge and Rachel typically teased the doctor. At some point, Rachel also met Baek-Ji, a young Gift user with a grudge against the Hero Clan's leader. This gathering of individuals started to be called the Nameless, survivors of the war amongst a new generation of villains.
