Akatur (아카투르), better known as the Knight Commander of Avaarin (아바린의 대전사장), was the overseer for the Tower of Milen Kula, the ancient Shard of the warrior nation as well as Milen Kula's closest subordinate. He would leave his position to hunt down the Elder, Engen the Smiling Man before falling in battle against the villain during the Battle of Langord.

The Knight Commander appearing at the beginning of the Assault on Castle Gray Arc, in which he met Engen and swore to track down the villain for the Smiling Man's role in the capture of Prosecutor.

Appearance[]

Akatur's overall appearance was completely unknown aside from a towering height as he stood over Engen. He is covered in head to toe in dark colored heavy armor and his facial features are unknown with an Avaarin made helmet covering his face.

Personality[]

Akatur was a conflicted man, torn between the traditions of his people and his yearning for freedom and facing powerful opponents. Though bound by duty never to leave the Blade Mountains and the Tower of Milen Kula, Akatur used his vendetta against the Smiling Man as a pretext to escape that fate.

Yet despite this being merely an excuse, he ultimately held genuine care for his friend Saulcai, as he did seek to avenge him when he believed him dead, and later naming him his successor upon discovering he was still alive, just before facing his own death. He also tried to help his warriors escape after they were caught in Nera's trap.

As a swordsman, the Knight Commander deeply understood the romanticism of wielding a blade, valuing the art of the sword despite possessing other extraordinary abilities.

History[]

Akatur's early life remains largely unknown, but he was born in the nation of Avaarin, a nation renowned for its powerful warriors and ruled by Milen Kula, an Elder. Like all Avaarinian citizens, he was raised to be a warrior, receiving his Avaarinian helmet upon reaching adulthood and taking the oath never to remove it except in front of his lover. It is believed that he met Saulcai, the student of the Knight Commander of Avaarin, as the two became close during this period.

The Murder of the Knight Commander[]

Centuries into the Age of Heroes and Villains, the Previous Knight Commander of Avaarin was supposedly killed in an ambush by the hero known as Bone Blade. Following the attack, Bone Blade stole the Knight Commander's treasured sword and later rose to become the Second Finger of the Black Hand's The Fingers.

With the loss of their greatest swordsman, Akatur was chosen to inherit the title of Knight Commander, marking the beginning of a new generation of leadership in Avaarin..[1]

Story[]

Nostra City Arc[]

When Engen and Abyss Dancer traveled to Avaarin and defeated the guards of the Tower of Milen Kula, Engen enters the tower and meets the Commander.

The Smiling Man asks if the tower welcomes outsiders and evildoers as Akatur confirms that he won't stop him from climbing the tower, Engen taunts the Commander for losing one of his soldiers after he asks what Engen did to the Prosecutor.

The Knight Commander promises to hunt down the villain if he manages to climb and survive the trials of the tower while Engen smiles at the threat.[2]

War of Disbandment Arc[]

Milen Kula visits the tower and is welcomed by the guards of the Shard while Akatur kneels to welcome the Elder. While his lord is busy dueling Victoria, the Knight Commander makes good of his words to track Engen down. With assistance from Vector, a former associate of the villain Elder, Akatur leads a group of Avaarinian warriors to attack the Smiling Man following his battle with Hero Killer and attack against the Hero Clan.

The Commander clashes with the Elder who mocks him for using Saulcai as an excuse to attack him while The Undead, and the rest of the New Nera fend off the warriors of Avaarin's assault who are assisted by the remaining Legion heroes but the Smiling Man leaves after accomplishing their objective.[3]
