WARNING! |
Vector, also known by his real name Resa Ronoke, is a Villain and a former member of the Nameless, an villainous organization led by the Smiling Man as the group's doctor and mode of transportation but left due to moral differences with Engen following the Invasion of Castle Gray.
Before becoming a Villain, he was once a member of the Hero Clan's science and research division that was involved with the Project Newborn, a gruesome research project designed to create Gift Users in order to save his sister, Roanoke during the days of Great War.
However, despite experimenting on countless victims he failed to save her. Guilt-ridden for his role in the horrific program, he escaped the clan and met Engen with John Nash, a victim of the project, years after the war's end. He would join the Nameless for the chance to witness and play a role in the Smiling Man's renewed war against the clan as an active 'spectator'.
Vector was introduced in the District 17 Assault Arc, where he and the Nameless helped save Hero Killer after she was nearly killed by the 17th Division's heroes and to announce their returned to the public and the Hero Clan.
Appearance[]
Vector's facial characteristics were initially unknown, since he perpetually wore a radiation gasmask, but is quite handsome with slander looking eyes and eyelashes with sky blue eyes that glow whenever using his EST with short middle-grey hair. According to Kkulbeol and Beolkkul, he was known to be the local pretty boy in his neighborhood in his childhood [1]
He used to wear a lab coat at all the time with a casual green shirt underneath it, printed with a skull and a green hoodie, but has now donned a more formal choice of clothing.
Personality[]
Vector is probably the only one in the Nameless who isn't abnormal, weird, entirely ruthless, or outright crazy.
He can be mostly calm and composed but is easily excitable (both negatively and positively) when the situation calls for it or escalates. Aside from that, Vector cares about his comrades in the Nameless despite their many, many eccentrics, unconventional mindsets, and ruthless methods but he isn't afraid to voice his opinions as he told Engen to never put him in the position of choosing between destroying civilians and stepping in to stop it. This shows that Vector still possesses some remnants of heroic thoughts from his days as a member of the Hero Clan.
However, Vector carries an immense amount of guilt for his role in the Shard Transplant Experiment, and this guilt eventually manifests as an inner voice that whispers to his consciousness.
History[]
Vector's early life isn't fully known but he did grow up in a neighborhood where he was known to be the local pretty boy in his childhood. It's assumed that he was born after the Chaotic Era.
In his adulthood, Vector joined the Hero Clan but it's unknown at what point he may have joined the clan but it's possible it was right after the clan's formation. At the time of the Great War, he was involved in the Shard Transplant Experiment, a gruesome research project whose sole aim was to turn regular humans into Gift users as they experimented on them.[2]
Vector was deeply involve in the horrific project where he worked with the program far longer before the other scientist joined [3] and encountered Daemon, a test subject of the experiments who was referred to as "AK14" [4] and John Nash during this period.
However, Vector left the clan after facing some sort of event that changed his perspective and opened his eyes.[5] Vector, guilt ridden for his role in the ruination of countless lives, became a villain and formed a partnership with John Nash. What the two men did together in their new lives isn't entirely known.
Decades after the Great War and well into the Age of Heroes and Villains, Vector met the Smiling Man, Engen the infamous Villain and former leader of the Nera Villains. Vector, knowing of Engen's reputation, offered his services in exchange for witnessing and playing a role in Engen's plans. The villain accepted Vector's offer, and the doctor became a member of the Nameless, survivors of the war amongst a new generation of villains along with John who also joined.
In this period of time, Vector met Rachel Sinclair, Engen's first recruit and a child of the Mad Elder, Reagan Sinclair, and Baek-Ji, a young Gift user with a grudge against the Hero Clan's leader. Vector became close with his fellow villains, especially with Rachel, as the two bonded to the point Vector decided to support her revenge against her biological father. The group of villains settled down in Dust City in District 17.
