Viper was a member of the Hero Clan and Chaos Partner/Sidekick before he was killed by the Nameless's John Nash. After the Nameless Attack on the 17th Division and Chaos's official retirement, he was buried by Chaos before he left Dust City with his girlfriend, Yuna Song.
However, Viper would return or at least his body did during The Torch Arc. It was revealed that the heinous villain, Puppeteer had stolen his body and modified it into a human weapon for her scheme to acquire the The Torch. His body once again clashed against Hero Killer but it was Chaos and Sharpshooter who defeated "him" as they severed Puppeteer's control.
Viper was introduced in the District 17 Assault Arc as an antagonist when he and Chaos attempted to take down and kill Hero Killer after she had killed the hero Jade, the Mad Dog. He would make posthumous appearances in flashbacks and was referred to by numerous characters.

Viper was a young man with gray eyes with dark circles underneath that gave him the impression of being gloomy and garnet red hair styled in an undercut with long bangs reaching his forehead. When he used his Gift, his eyes glowed with a pinkish violet. He had pale skin with a grayish hue with a muscled physique befitting an active hero and powerful Gift user.

Chaos meets Viper.
Ten years ago, Viper met the veteran hero Chaos after he was assigned to be his sidekick by Heavy Smoker, the chief manager of the 17th Division in District 17: Dust City.
While Chaos wondered about his abilities and if he could even last one year, Viper confidently assured the veteran that he could for far longer than ten. The two heroes would grow close as they fought together in numerous missions. In one such mission, while fighting against a gang of Villains, Viper injured himself while protecting Chaos from an attack.
It was in that mission that they discovered their signature move together. Afterward, Chaos gave Viper his gloves so he could better protect his hands. Viper thanked his partner but made sure to call no takebacks. During another mission, Viper asked Chaos on why he didn't wear his famous Hero Suit and his partner.
